By downloading, installing, or using the Device Optical Aid (DOA) desktop application ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not install or use the App.
These terms apply to the Windows desktop application and any future platform releases (macOS, Linux). Use of the DOA website is also subject to these terms.
DOA is a desktop application that applies real-time GPU shader-based visual correction to your screen. It is designed for users with refractive errors who want clearer screen readability without wearing glasses. The App provides:
Important: DOA is not a medical device and is not regulated as one. It is not intended to replace prescription glasses, contact lenses, or any professional eye care treatment. The corrections applied by DOA are approximations based on user-entered prescription values and are not clinically validated substitutes for optical lenses.
If you experience eye strain, headaches, blurred vision, or discomfort while using DOA, stop use immediately and consult a qualified eye care professional. Regular eye examinations remain necessary regardless of DOA usage.
DOA makes no claim that its correction is medically equivalent to wearing prescription eyewear.
To apply vision correction, DOA captures your screen in real time using the Windows Graphics Capture API. By using the App you acknowledge and consent to this. You should be aware that:
Some features require a DOA account. By registering you agree to:
One account may be used on a reasonable number of personal devices. Sharing accounts across multiple users is not permitted.
The free tier of DOA is subject to the following restrictions, which are enforced technically:
Attempting to circumvent these limits — including by manipulating local storage, system clocks, or network traffic — is a violation of these Terms and may result in account suspension.
Premium removes all free tier restrictions and unlocks:
Subscriptions are billed monthly ($7.99/mo) or annually ($79.99/yr) and renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date. All payments are processed by Creem. DOA never stores your card details or billing information.
Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period. You retain Premium access until the period expires.
Early access coupon holders: If you received a free Premium code, it will not auto-renew into a paid subscription when it expires. You will be moved to the free tier automatically unless you choose to subscribe.
We want every DOA user to have a good experience. If you are not satisfied, contact us within 14 days of your purchase at doaappsup@gmail.com.
Refunds are reviewed individually. Approved refunds are credited to the original payment method within 5–10 business days depending on your bank or provider.
We reserve the right to decline refund requests where the subscription has been extensively used or where abuse of the refund process is suspected.
Your use of DOA is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. It explains in detail what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding it.
You agree not to:
The DOA application, its source code, shader logic, branding, design, and all related content are the intellectual property of Device Optical Aid, operated by Cedric Julien .E, and are protected by applicable copyright and intellectual property laws.
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes. This license does not grant you any rights to the underlying code, assets, or technology.
DOA uses technical measures to protect its licensing and usage enforcement systems. Attempting to tamper with, patch, or disable these measures — including usage timers, watermark rendering, or subscription verification — is strictly prohibited and constitutes a material breach of these Terms.
Accounts found engaging in tampering may be permanently suspended without refund.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to DOA at our discretion, including but not limited to violations of these Terms. Where reasonably possible, we will notify you before termination.
You may terminate your account at any time by contacting support. Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, DOA and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the App — including but not limited to eye strain, vision issues, data loss, or loss of productivity.
Our total liability for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the 12 months preceding the claim.
DOA is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that the vision correction it applies will meet your individual needs. GPU compatibility, driver versions, and system configuration may affect performance.
We may update these Terms as the product evolves. When we make significant changes, registered users will be notified by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of DOA after that date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent revision.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws applicable in Cameroon, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation before any formal proceedings are initiated.
